Shelling Out Details On Chestnut Station

Posted in Real Estate on October 19th, 2007

Many of the townhomes in Chestnut Station have been around for the better part of the past twenty years, but when you have a home that was well-built, it doesn’t matter that it isn’t new construction. In fact, it often is a definite plus because they are usually located in an established neighborhood with mature trees and quiet surroundings. These townhomes are a good example of that.

A classic Chestnut Station townhome is a two story with finished full basement. Hardwood flooring is standard and rooms include both living room and dining room. The kitchens have usually been updated with new energy efficient appliances and master baths have been treated to newer fixtures and in some cases Jacuzzi tubs have been added.

The master bedroom contains a spacious walk-in closet and a laundry room on the second floor is the norm. a handy pantry is perfect for storing additional kitchen items or linens. Wiring for cable television and multiple phones is in place and the windows have fashionable coverings installed. Parking for one automobile is covered with an attached garage

Chestnut Station is one of Deerfield’s classic subdivisions, making the townhomes there a great place to reside in town. If living right in the Windy City is more your speed, the Chicago Condominiums Website can help find a home that’s right for you.

The Fountains Make a Splash

Posted in Real Estate on October 18th, 2007

One of Deerfield’s more sought after developments is The Fountains. This subdivision is a maintenance free townhome community and is full of luxury amenities. Most of these two story homes were built in the 1990s and have since been upgraded. The Fountains are located just a short drive from the retail and restaurant venues of downtown Deerfield. The townhomes are also close to the Metra stop, which is great for trips into Chicago or basically anyplace else on the North Shore.

The townhomes generally have airy, open floor plans with expansive windows and very high ceilings. Many of the homes have a great room where the ceiling stretches up to the full height of two stories. There is a formal living room, dining room, and modern kitchen with full appliance package, lots of cabinet space for food and dish storage plus island. Cold winter nights can be spent in front of the fireplace and warm summer afternoons on the deck.

The upper level contains the master bedroom with walk-in closet and secondary bedrooms. The master bath has both a walk-in shower and separate whirlpool tub. Many of the townhomes also have a library on the second floor, complete with wall length bookcases.

If you’re looking for a second home but don’t want to make the move to a subdivision, you might consider buying one of the Chicago Hotel Condos up for sale right now.
