Deerfield Crossing Worth the Bucks

Posted in Real Estate on December 27th, 2007

Deerfield Crossing, located on the 400 block of Elm Street, was constructed in the mid 1970s but has retained its charm and quality as one of the great places to live in town. The brick and cedar exterior gives it a classic look and most of the units have had improvements and renovations done.

The units at Deerfield Crossing generally come with two bedrooms and one to two baths. The kitchens have wood laminate flooring and are eat-in style with space for a table and chairs. A pantry for storage comes in handy as do the roomy closets. Appliances installed include a range with oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and garbage disposal.

Other rooms in the units are a combination living and dining room which is usually carpeted and features a beautiful wood burning fireplace that is a welcome addition on a cold winter day. A master bedroom with walk-in closet plus second bedroom normally have either hardwood flooring or high quality carpeting. A laundry room is equipped with a full size washer and dryer. The units also are wired with a state of the art security system, cable television and smoke and carbon detectors. Ceiling fans and window treatments are installed along with a humidifier with the electric forced air heating and cooling system.

Monthly assessments at Deerfield Crossing cover the cost of water, parking, insurance, outdoor care and lawn maintenance, trash pick-up and snow removal. Residents have a pool, patios and outdoor garden space to enjoy. Pets are allowed as well.

Deerfield Crossing is a fantastic buy for the money, but if you’re into ultra luxury in the heart of Chicago, then 600 N. Lake Shore Drive might be the place for you.
