Make Your Nest on 410 Hummingbird Court

Posted in Real Estate on February 16th, 2008

One of the well maintained townhomes in Winston Park North is the one on 410 Hummingbird Court. If you’re in the market for a slightly older home, this residence is ideal. Built in 1975 it still looks great and has obviously been lived in by owners who took pride in their home. A lot of people prefer older construction homes and there is usually a healthy secondary market for townhomes, especially in a great neighborhood or suburb.

This particular townhome has three bedrooms and two baths plus a powder room. The combination dining room and living room is L shaped and carpeted. There is also a large family room, complete with a fireplace and Pergo flooring. This is an ideal space for spending time with the kids or entertaining on special occasions. The kitchen is an eat-in style with space for a table and ceramic tile on the floor. Appliances included are a refrigerator, range with oven, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal and even a trash compactor. A full finished basement is also present and provides additional storage space or can be converted to a den, office, gym or anything you’d like.

Other large ticket appliances and equipment are a washer and dryer plus a sump pump and humidifier. Central air conditioning and gas forced air take care of the heating and cooling needs, and an attached two car garage provides indoor parking. Pets are also welcome.

This would make an excellent home for a new family or retired couple who still want plenty of space. If you’re interested more in living in the big city so to speak, there are many Downtown Chicago Condos for Sale right now.

Nothing Nutty About Chestnut Station

Posted in Real Estate on February 3rd, 2008

Stopping at 804 Chestnut Street will put you in front of a two bedroom, two bath Chestnut Station townhome. This residential structure is typical of the attractive homes that line Deerfield’s streets. The construction year was 1987, but this townhome isn’t dated by any means. The home is perfect for a young family or retired couple who aren’t bursting at the seams. With roughly 1,620 square feet of living space, there is breathing room.

This particular Chestnut Station townhome is listed as having a fresh interior paint job, which in itself can totally transform a home. The basement is full sized and partially finished with the ceiling done and lights installed. It would be an ideal space for a game room, gym or home office. The kitchen has been treated to an update and is ready for some serious chef action with energy efficient name brand appliances. Storage space isn’t an issue with the large walk-in closet off the master bedroom. Laundry is less of a chore, too, with the full size washer and dryer there.

The combination living and dining room sports a fireplace and handsome hardwood floors. The bedrooms are carpeted and the kitchen has hardwood as well. The master bath is designed for relaxation with a whirlpool tub, separate shower and double sink. Central air conditioning and gas forced air heat keeps the townhome at a comfortable temperature all year. Chestnut Station is exactly what it’s cracked up to be, which is a nice, comfortable place for you and your pet to live. There is still a good deal of New Home Construction in Chicago going on now, but sometimes the home of your dreams is already waiting for you to move in.

Remodeled Osterman Avenue Condos Welcome Pets

Posted in Real Estate on January 30th, 2008

For a large majority of people, their pets are a part of the family, not just a hobby or an afterthought. So when it comes to finding a new place to live, whether or not pets are welcome is a primary concern. With the condos on the 1100 block of Osterman Avenue, that isn’t an issue because pets are welcome.

A one bedroom, one bath with with two parking spaces will range in the low to mid $190,000s. There is about 1000 square feet of living space in a unit like that. The traditional brinck building was constructed in 1960, but many if not most of the units have been remodeled.

The kitchens aren’t large, but new hardwood floors have been installed and give it a fresh look. Newer, more energy efficient appliances such as a refrigerator, range with oven and dishwasher combine for a great cooking recipe. The dining and living rooms are usually combined, but have enough space to be comfortable. The master bedroom is also roomy enough for comfort. The baths in these condos have been renovated recently and contain many new fixtures and details. Most of the rooms have had new hardwood flooring put down, which gives any room a new look.

The condos have window air conditioning units and gas fueled hot water/steam heating. Standard features include a washer and dryer and smoke and carbon detectors. The monthly assessment covers the heating, water usage, trash pick up and common insurance.

There are New Chicago Condo Listings going up on a regular basis, so it pays to check back often.
